Before our early evening show, Tim, Trond and I took a late afternoon Family Walk to the Post Office. We quickly learned that we were not the only family walking on Greenview.

We saw this sweet momma with her gaggle of ducklings.

They followed every exact move she made. I had to keep my distance because, even though Tim had a hold of Trond, I didn’t want want the hund following me and let his natural instinct to kick in and go after the ducklings.
I mailed my package at the Post Office while Tim and Trond waited outside for me. As we were walking home, we saw the new little family again. Only this time, the momma duck was leading her sweet little brood into a very busy intersection at Ashland and Grace. I was quite concerned. She clearly did not care about the street lights and when it was her turn to cross the street safely.

Thankfully, two kind souls on bikes noticed me waving about the ducks and the three of us made sure that traffic stopped in order for this little family to cross Ashland unharmed. The quickly went into a yard:

The ducklings followed their momma under the fence. I thanked the two people who helped make the crossing safe for the little family. I then waited for Tim and Trond, who stayed on the east side of Ashland to make sure the family was not only safe from traffic but safe from the hund to cross and meet up with me. The momma duck lead her ducklings down a Sidewalk of Safety:

I did not think we’d see them again but as we walked closer to our house, who did we encounter but our new vagabond neighbors!

They were trying to rest in an alley but I saw a junk trunk making its way toward them - I waved and let them know to yield to the Quackers.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Quackers! Please be careful!
