1. Out the Window

It sure is nice to have the windows open.  I am thankful that we live in a (relatively) quiet neighborhood so having the windows open at all hours in the spring/summer is feasible.  It can get loud with shrieks and screams when the dang neighborhood kids are playing ‘Hunger Games’ and there are sirens every now and again.  ‘Tis the season of block parties in Chicago, so there is a weekend here or there of horrible karaoke or crappy little live bands but it’s manageable.  We have a lot of yippy barking neighborhood dogs but considering we live in a city of millions and millions of people, we have a fairly quiet spot.

The hund loves having the windows open, too.  He likes to check out what is going on in the backyard from our bedroom window:

He has to see if his Girl Gracie is out there playing!

(He also has a nice view into our neighbor’s immaculate yard.)

He likes to look out of the office window, onto the street, as well:

Thanks for checking out the window for us, Captain.

But we all know his favorite perch - The Couch.  He spends a lot of time surveying his neighborhood from this very spot.

Sometimes he brings his Nylabones with him.  I do not encourage this.  These stayed up long enough for me to take a picture of them, then I promptly removed them from the couch.  Yuck.  I gotta hand it to the hund, though, he never barks; no matter what or who is passing by.  He is a pretty quiet boy.

But sometimes, sometimes this hund really has to relax in order to properly peruse…

His flat, Labrador head just kills me.  Man, I love this dumb dog…

I wish I could take this laid back (literally) approach to life: just enjoying it for the sake of enjoying it…

Even though you’re shedding like crazy and you like to slobber on us, you certainly make life more enjoyable, Hund
