Pensive Pup
The wonderful blossoms and blooms everywhere are very uplifting.  Everything starting new is refreshing for this girl. The scent of this Beauty below is intoxicating - I love the scent of blossoms like these!  Truly Springtime Wonderfulness! Even though there is all of this beauty surrounding me, I still can’t help but feel kinda like this poor guy - I don’t know what...

Little Lap Hund
Yesterday I worked a full day but Tim was home so he and Trond had a nice day together.  Tim had a show last night.  It was kind of chilly out - chillier than it had been in awhile.  I got caught up with season two of Downton Abbey.  During the last episode, my best pal decided to sit on the little couch with me.  The hund must have really missed me all day because being on the couch just...

9 to 5 Hund
I work part-time (here and there) for a wonderful non-profit organization.  Yesterday, since I would be the only person in the office, I decided to bring Trond along.  He had been before so I thought it would be fun to bring him.  It was nice to have my pal with me but it did not go as smoothly as I had hoped.  Mainly because of this: Our stairwell in this office loft is basically a death trap...

Happy Day!
What a happy day!  It is my sister’s birthday today.  I really love her.  Don’t tell her, though.  :)  So first off, Happy Birthday, Sis!  I hope it was a good one.  The weather continues to be gorgeous so Trond and I took a very long walk on a new route today.  We met a six-month old Pit bull mix named Blue.  He was sweet and wanted to show Trond how tough he was.  Trond (in his...

Dog Tired
Today I had the extreme pleasure of having all three meals with my best friend!  It is a busy time of year at the non-profit I work part-time for and Tim is out of town, so Trond spent yesterday and today at Playful Pets.  He is dog tired. In fact, as Larry put it - ‘He’s draggin’ ass!’  This morning, I dropped Trond off at Playful Pets, then picked Erica up and we went...

A Healing Hund
Last Thursday, Tim had another LASIK procedure.  On Friday morning, we went back to the doctor for his follow up appointment.  Everything was healing correctly but Tim was in pain longer than the last time and more sensitive to light.  For the rest of the day on Friday, he took it easy on the big couch, listening to rather than watching TV.  He kept his eyes closed for most of the day.   The...

Spring Time then Fall
The day started out really well, guys.  I woke up to this one: He was wide awake in his huset with his ears flipped over greeting the day. We went for our morning walk and saw yet more spring beauty. I mean, just freakin’ beeeeeauuuuutiful, right?  Even these jag-mos: It still takes every ounce of will power in me not to pick one of these things.  My fellow NWC friends know...

Hunden min på vårparten
Springtime has hit Chicago early this year and I am loving every second of it!  This is my favorite time of year.  I hope it lasts and lasts this year.  Anyhooo —— the hund is enjoying it but he is getting used to the heat again.  When you’re a hund with a thick, black winter coat (he hasn’t shed it yet) temps near 80 degrees kinda wear you down.  Last Wednesday, after we...

A Smile from Mamba
Friends! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  This entry has nothing to do with it :) ‘Tis been faaaarrrrr too long.  (typed in an Irish accent) I guess I took a bit of a break from the ol’ blaaag (Chicago accent) whilst my Mamba was here from Texas.  She spent part of her Spring Break up here in good ol’ Chicago with me.  It was terrific!  We shopped, had friends over for brunch,...

Spring Is ...

Watch Hund
Most dog owners, I imagine, are greeted by their hund at the door when they come home from work or rehearsal or errands or whatever.  Maybe their hund barks when they hear that someone is at the door.  Or at least, maybe their hund raises their head a little bit when their owner comes home.                                               Not this hund! He is far too comfortable and way too...

Snowflakes & Sweaters
It snowed off and on this weekend.  Nothing accumulated, thankfully, but it was odd snow.  It didn’t really seem like flakes.  It seemed more like those little white balls that fill bean bag chairs were falling from the sky, rather than snowflakes, per say.  Good thing you can see the white snow against my Black Lab.   Ahhh… the Contrast. The hund and I just expected it to...

A Hund - His Balls
Labrador Retrievers are known as a friendly, amiable breed.  Trond is no exception.  He has always been a sociable fellow.  But a year ago, when he was a mere 10 months old, his friendliness was a little too… assertive.  We’d be at a dog park or out on a walk, another dog would stop to play with our hund and the playing would turn into, well, harassment.  Our puppy was growing up.  ...

A Hund + His Balls
Our hund is one superb chewer.  Since we’ve met him, he has made this trait abundantly clear to us.  Shown it off, if you will.  (I think you will.)  When we first brought Trond home we really had to watch what was on the floor because if it was on the floor, it was fair game for this two month old puppy to chew.  We had to keep the bathroom door closed at all times so he wouldn’t get...
